Our History

Red Lion Christian School was established in 1970 under the leadership of Pastor Ronald Schmuck as an outreach ministry of Red Lion Bible Church. In 1969, Pastor Schmuck approached Lucille Shea and asked her to take on the task of establishing a kindergarten. That first class began with just 18 students. Originally beginning as a daycare ministry, the school gradually added additional grade levels. In 1979, Red Lion Christian School celebrated its first graduating class of three students. Since then, the Lord has continued to bless the ministry, and more than 360 students have graduated from Red Lion Christian School over the years.

We are deeply thankful for the faithful teachers and staff who have invested their lives in this ministry, as well as for the thousands of children the Lord has entrusted to our care. We are reminded of the words found in 1 Corinthians 3:6–7, that it is God who gives the increase!

Today, Red Lion Christian School continues to operate on the campus of Red Lion Bible Church. Our facilities include a gymnasium, playground, ball field, and an in-ground pool used by our Summer Day Care program.

We are especially grateful for Pastor Ronald Schmuck and his faithfulness to follow the Lord’s leading in establishing this ministry. His commitment to keeping the right priorities has helped lay a strong foundation that continues to impact generations of students and families.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired word of God, inerrant and preserved by God in the English language as we have it today, known as the King James 1611 Bible and that it is the supreme and final authority in faith and life. (II Peter 1:20; II Tim. 3:16)

2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4)

3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. (Luke 1:35)

4. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; that man sinned and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death; and that all humans are born with a sinful nature and are sinners in thought, word, and deed.  (Romans 3:23)

5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as our representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. (I Cor. 5:3)

6. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God; that they are indwelt and sealed of the Holy Spirit and are secure in Him until the day of redemption. (John 1:12)

7. We believe the Gospel message is simple enough for a small child to understand and to respond to it. (Matt. 19:14)

8. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost. (John 5:28, 29)

9. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

10. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We recognize that within the body of believers there are differences of opinion on various doctrinal views.  Students enrolled at Red Lion Christian School will be taught in accordance with the views stated above; however, we will not force any child to conform to views that are contrary to what has been taught in the home.  On the other hand, neither will we alter teaching to compromise on any issue.
